Connecting diverse ecosystems:
Bringing together startups, investors, corporates, policymakers, ecosystem builders and international delegations from Berlin and across Asia — while creating meaningful opportunities for exchange across different industries, cultures and levels of seniority.
Turning a large-scale conference into meaningful connections:
The Summit needed to go beyond traditional stage content. With around 1,000 attendees across two days, the challenge was to create formats that enabled participants to actually meet relevant people, exchange knowledge and initiate new business relationships.
Putting startups at the center:
With international delegations bringing startups at different stages and from different sectors, the program needed to create visibility for founders while connecting them with relevant investors, industry experts and ecosystem stakeholders.
Coordinating a complex stakeholder landscape:
The Summit involved the Berlin Senate, AsiaBerlin Forum, ambassadors, board members, international delegations, partners, speakers, exhibitors and external suppliers. Aligning these stakeholders while delivering one coherent participant experience required extensive coordination and curation.
Quantitative Results
1,000 attendees reached across two Summit days, with 50% international visitors and 20% startup representation.
93 speakers contributed to the program, with 37.6% holding Asian nationalities. Including speakers officially representing Asian ecosystems, the share reached 48.39%.
38 Main Stage sessions, including 13 panels, 13 keynotes and 12 alternative formats.
75 startup pitches, supported by a curated network of 31 jury members.
116 exhibitors representing 13 countries.
9 international delegations participated in the Summit.
30 satellite events took place throughout the week — three times the original target of ten.
The Summit achieved its target of facilitating 300 business meetings via B2Match.
Qualitative Impact
Startup-first programming:
Rather than treating startups as a side program, betahausX built the Summit around a “Startup First” approach. Main Stage content, startup pitches, jury curation, exhibition tours and networking opportunities were interconnected to give founders greater access to relevant decision-makers.
From conference attendance to curated connections:
Dedicated formats including the Networking Area, Speakers Corner, “What If” networking sessions, PitchLympics and curated introductions created multiple entry points for meaningful interaction beyond conventional networking.
Stronger Asia–Berlin connections:
betahausX actively connected visiting delegations and individual startups with investors, potential partners and other relevant Berlin stakeholders — including direct one-to-one introductions beyond the formal Summit program.
A platform extending beyond the main event:
The 30 satellite events demonstrated strong demand within Berlin's ecosystem to engage with the AsiaBerlin community and expanded the Summit from a two-day conference into a broader ecosystem experience.
The AsiaBerlin Summit 2025 brought together the innovation ecosystems of Berlin and Asia to enable new business relationships, knowledge exchange and international collaboration.
Rather than designing another conventional conference, betahausX approached the Summit as an ecosystem activation platform: connecting high-level policy and industry conversations with startup pitches, curated matchmaking, exhibitions, ecosystem tours, networking formats and independently hosted satellite events.
What is the program?
A two-day international innovation summit complemented by a week of satellite events and ecosystem activities connecting Berlin with startup and innovation ecosystems across Asia.
Who is it for?
Startups, investors, corporates, policymakers, international delegations, ecosystem builders and innovation leaders from Berlin, Asia and beyond.
betahausX Responsibility:
Program and Main Stage curation, Startup Stage design and operation, startup expo curation, speaker management, delegation support, satellite-event onboarding, registration operations, stakeholder matchmaking and event logistics.
Primary Goals
- Strengthen connections between Berlin and Asian innovation ecosystems, give international startups access to relevant stakeholders, facilitate concrete business connections and create a platform where ecosystem relationships can grow beyond the Summit itself.
The AsiaBerlin Summit 2025 demonstrated what can happen when an international conference is approached not simply as an event, but as a community and ecosystem-building platform.
With 93 speakers, 75 startup pitches, 116 exhibitors, nine delegations, 300 facilitated business meetings and 30 satellite events, the Summit created multiple layers of interaction between founders, investors, corporates, policymakers and ecosystem builders.
Three principles shaped the approach:
Startups need more than visibility:
Pitching becomes significantly more valuable when founders are surrounded by carefully selected experts, investors and potential partners.
Networking needs to be designed:
Meaningful connections are more likely when an event combines digital matchmaking, curated introductions, facilitated formats and informal encounters.
Ecosystems grow through participation:
The expansion to 30 satellite events showed that the AsiaBerlin community extends well beyond the central conference. Giving partners and ecosystem players ways to actively contribute can turn an event into a distributed platform for collaboration.
